Prep For Your Tattoo

Here’s what you can do to prepare for your appointment

  • Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water. It’s recommended that you bring a water bottle with you.
  • Don’t arrive under the influence of anything, sometimes drugs or alcohol can make people not sit still, have worsened pain, etc.

    • Alcohol can affect your blood sugar levels and thin your blood causing you to bleed more. More bleeding can effect the overall quality and healing of your tattoo. It can also affect your decision making and communication. I don’t want anybody leaving with a terrible morning-after tattoo that serves as a painful reminder of how much you drank the night before!
    • For those of you on blood thinners or pain medications, please let me know as they can also cause excessive bleeding which can impact healing and quality of your tattoo.
    • Avoid any topical medication in the area you want tattooed as it can majorly impact the texture and sensitivity of your skin (Example: acne medications)
  • Eat! Tattooing can have an impact your blood sugar levels, so I don’t want you to feel dizzy or nauseous, and definitely don’t want you to faint!
  • Bring your ID to the appointment

    • What forms do I accept?

      • Birth certificate, driver’s license, passport or government issued ID with your photo
  • Some clients feel more comfortable listening to their own music throughout the appointment. If this is the case for you, feel free to bring some headphones!
  • Pain can make you feel colder than usual. If you have a longer session, feel free to bring a blanket or jacket.
